Perry J. Leonard Jr., MD, MSPH, MHS

About Perry:

As the son of a Navy officer, Perry grew up as a proud “military brat,” moving every three to six years, affording him the opportunity to live in various places across the US and Japan. New to Utah, Perry relocated to the Beehive state so his wife could continue her medical training at the University of Utah. He appreciates the proximity to national parks and its peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere.

Perry was drawn to pediatrics through his faith and childhood experiences. Growing up, his church community emphasized empowering children and instilling within them the confidence, hope, and strength that they need to thrive. When his pediatrician visited his church and spoke about serving others through medicine, Perry knew he wanted to follow the same path.

When he’s not in the office, Perry enjoys road trips with his wife and two young daughters, playing basketball, watching movies, and serving in his church community. He’s also an avid sports fan who cheers loudly for the Georgia Bulldogs and Dallas Cowboys.

Dr. Leonard is excited to grow roots in Utah and make a meaningful difference in the lives of his patients and their families. With a heart for helping others, he looks forward to fostering joy, harmony, and peace within the families he serves while making trips to the doctor something kids can look forward to.

Parent Feedback

Dr. Ragsdale is AMAZING. We are a military family and have moved quite a bit. So we have had several pediatricians and he is by far the most attentive, caring, thorough doctor we’ve had. He never makes me feel rushed, makes sure all of my questions are answered and works to make sure our kids feel as comfortable as possible. The Layton office in general has provided a wonderful experience, we have seen several other providers there for last minute sick visits when Dr. Ragsdale was not available and they were all great as well. We were always able to get in same day for sick visits so I’ve never had to take my children to a random urgent care in the two years we’ve lived here. We are preparing to move and are SO sad to not be able to go to this office anymore. Thank you Dr. Ragsdale and the Wee Care Layton team for taking such good care of our family!
