Dr. Ragsdale is AMAZING. We are a military family and have moved quite a bit. So we have had several pediatricians and he is by far the most attentive, caring, thorough doctor we’ve had. He never makes me feel rushed, makes sure all of my questions are answered and works to make sure our kids feel as comfortable as possible. The Layton office in general has provided a wonderful experience, we have seen several other providers there for last minute sick visits when Dr. Ragsdale was not available and they were all great as well. We were always able to get in same day for sick visits so I’ve never had to take my children to a random urgent care in the two years we’ve lived here. We are preparing to move and are SO sad to not be able to go to this office anymore. Thank you Dr. Ragsdale and the Wee Care Layton team for taking such good care of our family!

How can I meet with a Lactation Specialist?

If you’re experiencing frustration or feeding challenges with your baby, you can text or call us at 801.773.8644 to schedule an appointment with one of our in-house Lactations Consultants. The appointment can take place immediately after your baby’s well-check or at a later time that works for you.

Will my Lactation visit be covered by insurance?

Typically, yes, it does. You’ll have to verify your plan’s specific coverage with your insurance carrier.

What can I expect at a Lactation visit?

During your visit, your Lactation Consultant will discuss any concerns you have and may examine your baby’s mouth and tongue. Depending on the situation, she might weigh your baby before and after feeding or observe their latch. You’ll always be in a private room, and we provide a cozy nursing chair for your comfort.

What qualifications do your Lactation Consultants have?

Our Lactation Specialists are International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC). With their experience in pediatric nursing, they are dedicated to helping moms and babies build a confident breastfeeding partnership.

Can I schedule my baby's well-check and a Lactation visit at the same time?

Yes, depending on availability. When you make your baby’s next appointment, ask the reception about a Lactation Consultation. If a Certified Lactation Consultant isn’t available at that time, our scheduling team can work with you to find a convenient time.
