Parenting Class for Roy-Area Parents

Free Class for New Parents in Roy, Utah

When you’re expecting, everyone has an opinion—your mother-in-law, TikTok, the woman behind you in line at Smith’s. Our Baby Basics & Breastfeeding class is two grounded hours with a clinician from our Roy office and an IBCLC-certified registered nurse, sitting down to answer the questions that are actually keeping you up at night.

By the end of the evening, you’ll have a clear picture of those first weeks at home: which baby behaviors are typical and which aren’t, how to navigate the early days of breastfeeding, the pregnancy and newborn red flags that genuinely warrant a phone call, and how your child’s first well visits will go. The class costs nothing, and it’s led by the same providers who’ll be caring for your baby from day one.

We host the Roy class at our Roy clinic, and it draws expecting families from across Weber County and the northern edge of Davis County—Ogden, Riverdale, Clearfield, Hooper, South Ogden, Sunset, and the surrounding neighborhoods. Wee Care has been a fixture along this stretch of the Wasatch Front for years, and for many families, this class is how we first meet.

Frequently Asked Questions

How large is each class?

We cap registration at thirty expecting mothers (partners welcome), which puts the room somewhere between 30 and 60 people total. It’s still a group format, but we pace it so there’s room for your questions—no one’s rushed out at the end.

Who should attend this class?

Pregnant moms and their partners are the core audience, usually somewhere in the second or third trimester. First-timers get the deepest benefit, though a fair number of returning parents come too—often for a breastfeeding tune-up, or because something about this pregnancy isn’t tracking with the last one.

Do I need to be an existing Wee Care Patient?

Nope. The class is open to anyone in the Roy area who’s expecting—whether you’re already with Wee Care or just weighing your options. Some families do end up choosing us as their pediatrician after attending, but there’s no expectation either way.

What should I bring to the class?

Just yourself, and your partner if they’re coming. We’ve got everything else covered, and you’ll leave with a gift bag if you’re the expecting mom.

Is Wee Care taking new patients?

Yes—our Roy office is accepting new patients year-round. When you’re ready, you can schedule a newborn visit directly through our website.

We already have one child. Is this class still worth attending?

More often than you’d think. No two pregnancies look the same, and a lot of what we cover—especially the breastfeeding portion—plays out differently with each baby. Parents who’ve had a long stretch between kids, a NICU experience, or a new partner often tell us the second round felt just as valuable as the first.

*Each family is limited to two seats. Partners are welcome alongside the expecting mother. Every attending family takes home a gift bag courtesy of Johnson & Johnson, Copper Pearl, Minky Couture, CeraVe, and more.
