This support group offers parents a confidential space to connect with others raising LGBTQIA+ children. Together, participants will share experiences, ask questions, and learn from a licensed therapist and from one another. Whether your child recently came out, is exploring their identity, or has been living openly for years, this group is a place to find understanding, build community, and grow in your role as a supportive parent.
*This class is self-pay only, not billable through insurance.
I truly can’t say I have anything bad to say. The doctors have been truly so kind and their staff so sweet to my kids, from newborns to teenagers.
This class is led by Jess Hooks, LCSW.
Parents will be invited to share their experiences, questions, and challenges in a confidential group setting.
Every participant is expected to keep everything discussed in group sessions completely confidential.
You will learn practical tools for communicating with your child, supporting their identity journey, and caring for yourself along the way.
Whether this is your first parent group or one of many, you're welcome to join this single session.
Class sizes are capped at 6, 8, 10, or 12 participants. Class size may vary for online sessions.
This group is designed for parents and primary caregivers of children who identify as LGBTQIA+, are questioning their identity, or have recently come out. Whether you’re newly learning about your child’s identity or have been supporting them for years, you’re welcome here. No prior experience with support groups is required.
No. This is a group for parents only. The conversations are designed to give you space to process your own experiences, questions, and feelings without your child present. If you’re looking for support for your child as well, please reach out to ask about our other offerings.
The session is led by a licensed therapist and combines guided discussion, practical education, and open conversation among parents. You can expect to hear from others, share as much or as little as you’d like, and leave with concrete tools and a sense of community.
Yes. All participants agree to keep what’s shared in the group confidential. The therapist follows standard ethical and legal confidentiality practices, with the usual exceptions required by law (such as concerns about safety). Confidentiality expectations will be reviewed at the start of the session.
No referral or diagnosis is needed. This is an open community group, not a clinical treatment program. You can register directly through this page. If you have questions about whether this group is the right fit for you, feel free to contact our office before signing up.
