About David:

David was born in Utah but moved to Arizona when he was eight. His love of orthodontics began as a teenager when David saw how life-changing it was for his best friend to experience braces. He knew he wanted to help people gain the same confidence with their smile as his friend. After serving a mission in Japan, David went to school at BYU where he met his wife. Together, they moved to Virginia so that he could attend dental school. After completing his degree and honing his specialty, they moved to Arizona, where he established and led a successful orthodontic practice. After 35 years, he sold his practice and relocated to Utah to be closer to his children, grandchildren, and extended family.

While David can’t whistle and admits to overthinking even simple jokes, he has a pretty impressive “baby bird” sound that can drive cats crazy! When David’s not in the office, you can find him exploring Utah trails, working on family history, photo journaling, or hitting balls on the golf course. He would love to visit the Swiss Alps, Austria, and play golf at midnight in Sweden.

David’s professional journey is not just about transforming smiles, but also about building meaningful relationships. He takes great joy in connecting with his patients and their families, witnessing their confidence grow as their smiles transform. His most rewarding cases often involve a collaborative approach with other dental professionals, a testament to his commitment to achieving the best results for his patients. He looks forward to every new smile and every new friendship, making the journey as meaningful as the destination.

Parent Feedback

I'm so happy we found Wee care when my 1st was born 13 years ago. Our doctor and MA really know my kids. Every interaction with the staff has been good. I really appreciate that the Layton office is also an after hours peds urgent care with weekend and late hours. My kids always get sick on Saturday night or Sunday when the regular urgent care is closed. It's very helpful that our pediatrician and the urgent care providers can see all the same history so they have a complete picture of my child's health or illness. It was such a relief to get care at 9pm when my 5 day old baby developed severe jaundice. And when my 5yr old slammed her baby brother's fingers in a door at bedtime. My kids are now using the counseling services Wee care offers. Finding mental health care that is covered by insurance and has openings can be such a barrier to overcome. Having a therapist in the practice has made getting my kids the support they need easy to navigate. I recommend Wee care to every family I know. And now my grandbabies see a Wee care pediatrician, too.
