My Child's 6 Year Visit

Physical Exam and Immunizations

Adventurous Six Year Olds

As your child reaches the six-year milestone, it’s time to check in on their progress in school. This visit is a wonderful opportunity for parents to discuss their child’s development and health with their pediatrician. We’ll cover a range of topics to ensure your child is staying on track.

Physical Screening

During the physical screening, your pediatrician will check your child’s height, weight, and overall physical health. They’ll also evaluate your child’s balance and coordination to ensure they’re developing as expected.

Developmental Milestones

We’ll look at key developmental milestones, such as your child’s ability to ride a bike, count to 100, and manage their emotions. We’ll discuss how they’re adjusting to school and handling peer interactions so that we can track their progress and address any concerns parents may have.

Education

Whether learning to read, understanding the concept of time, or following directions, we’ll discuss how your child’s doing in school and offer guidance on any areas that may be more challenging in the classroom.

Nutrition

As your child grows, so do their nutritional needs. We’ll talk about the importance of healthy eating habits, including balanced meals and snacks. We’ll also provide guidance on keeping your child active by encouraging regular physical activity.

Sleep

Regular sleep is still a common concern at this stage. We’ll discuss how much sleep your child should be getting at night and address any challenges you might have in getting them to have a restful night’s sleep.

We’re here to support both you and your child as they continue to grow and develop. Contact our office with any questions before or after your appointment.
